The Power of Prayer

Okay so I'm sure many of you know, that John's Dad has been very sick within the last year, he was diagnosed with Leukemia a year ago and did well with chemo but never did get a bone marrow transplant and now it has returned and after fighting a good long battle he has decided that for him, it is time he return home, as soon as the Lord wants him. We have spent a beautiful, lovely, tender weekend with him, and we realize that very soon he will go home. It has been hard at times but it has also been absolutely beautiful. I don't know about many of you but I am a doer, I don't feel good for anything unless I am doing something to help out, so I have been trying to keep myself busy and probably driving my mother in law crazy but it has been nice to feel like you can do something to help when you feel helpless.
But I just had to share something that just is amazing to me, we have been trying to get Dad up to the table to eat for his meals and he has been doing pretty good with that, but for most of the day he sleeps and he is not too coherent and tends to repeat things a lot, but when he prays to bless the food, the cancer melts away, the fogginess melts away and we are left with the patriarch of our family praying for guidance, love and support for his family and reminding us to do what is right. It is remarkable to witness, I am so blessed to be able to spend this time with this wonderful man who I have grown to love so much. I am so grateful that my children have known this amazing grandfather who loves them so much, and I am truly grateful for the extra time the Lord has given us to say the things that need to be said. Yay!!

Ok it may not be cool but I am so happy Kris Allen won! I liked them both but I liked Kris more, to me he seemed to push himself more and he didn't get hardly any of the publicity that Adam and Gokey got. And last night didn't it seem to you that the producers wanted Adam to win? I mean Kris's number with Keith Urban was cool, but even Adam got way more camera time and fireworks and smoke and fire and Kiss? I kinda wish that would have had Bon Jovi perform with Kris wouldn't that have been cool? I loved the shock on the faces of those who thought Adam had this in the bag. (including himself) I like the guy but I really don't think I would buy his album. And honestly if he did the screaming thing one more time, I would scream! So yeah for the underdog, the good guy, the quiet guy, the humble guy!!!! Yay, Yay, Yay!!! I know this is completely stupid to be this excited over AI but life sucks right now so I picked something frivilous to blog about instead of something terrible!!

The big 6

Well today is my baby's 6th birthday, can't believe how fast it has gone. This kid came fast and furious and has never stopped since. We just love him to death he has such a sweet heart and right now it is totally about him, and for right now that is okay. He his a classic youngest child (believe me I am married to one) but so fun and creative. So glad that he his part of our family a day doesn't go by when he doesn't make us laugh.

Question for you!!

Did I ever mention that I am afraid of snakes and rodents? Well I am, terrified!!! I have heard all the rationale that there more afraid of you than you are of them. (I highly doubt it!) In fact I really love doing yardwork a lot but because of the snakes in our yard I hardly do it anymore because of the snakes. But recently I have been blessed with a new toy, thanks to my father in law who doesn't use it anymore.
Yes that's right a rider lawn mower, Did you know there are no snakes up here? It rocks!! I love it! So my question to you is? What are you afraid of that may seem silly to others but it terrifies you regardless! come on fess up and help me feel better about my phobias!! Happy Monday!

To all the Moms I've loved before.....

Happy Mothers Day to all my Mom's!
There is so many mom's I look up to my friends are fabulous mom's!! My sister in laws are great moms too! But there are a few mom's who I turn too when I need a mom and yes I still do need my mom's!!

Karen- has been my friend for 21 years now WOW!! I have looked to her for so much advice, love, support, sanity. She is truly one of the smartest people I know, And I do truly cherish her, my life would be very different if I didn't have her in it.
Bette-I have been blessed to have her in my life for 12 1/2 years she was a friend of John's who I was very grateful to inherit, she has been through so many things with me and has been a constant source of love, devotion and support. And she and Tom are such good grandparents to my kids!! We spend every Christmas morning with them having Tomlettes! We love you so much Bette!!!!
Mary Jean-My mother in law is truly one of the most amazing women I know. She is such an example to me. She never ever says anything bad about anyone! She is so Christlike and full of grace and love. She can cook, sew, clean, quilt, can, bake, sing, play the piano, and has the patience of JOB!! Her heart is so full of love, and for those she lets get close enough she has an amazing sense of humor! I have watched her this last year when most of us would be screaming at the heavens but she has continued with grace and love and I love her so much and I am so grateful for my Mother in Law!!!!!
MY MOM is the best she is ALWAYS positive, I don't how she does that. But she is one of the most important people in my life and I don't know where I would be without her she is my rock. I love her so much and I have learned so much from her. Nothing is real until I tell my mom, and even when I get really bad news I don't usually break down until I tell her. She has always been there for me even when I was being a butthead! That's love ya'll!!! It doesn't matter if she cares about it or not if I do then it is important to her! I always need her!

I want to sit here in a billowy (word?) linen dress, walk barefoot, stare at younger men through my sunglasses so they won't know (don't judge me you would do it too) eat amazing food, sleep in a roon with no windows just openings. Who's coming!

Family and Friends

Just wanted to let you all know, our family is having a special fast for John's Dad tomorrow, he has had a miserable week and is very weak and in a lot of pain. Please keep him in you prayers as you fast this Sunday. Thank you again for all your love and support.

Okay can I just say that WICKED was amazing, Catie didn't move the entire time, except to turn to me and say "MOM it's so awesome!!" it was so sweet! Thanks to Jana for the in with the ticks. We loved it and tonight I get to go see this lovely in Miss Saigon with the hubster! Yeah!! Sorry for all the downers lately I am going to try to be more positive and realize how blessed we truly are! Have a loverly weekend!
